POLICE have issued a warning to Komani residents to take care while walking in the Komani CBD.
The warning follows an attack on a 37-year-old woman while walking home from work over the weekend.
Police spokesman Captain Namhla Mdleleni said the woman was confronted by a man near the Gardens clinic and dragged into nearby bushes where she was raped.
The suspect then fled with the woman’s cellular phone.
Witnesses summonsed the police who gave chase and arrested a suspect shortly afterwards.
The suspect has appeared in court and has been remanded into custody.
