Stutt farmer top seller at CMW auction

Date:

The further gains of the Rand against the USDollar this week as well as a drop of some 0,6% on the Australian market, saw south African wool-prices also take a tumble.

Long fine-wool of 19micron and finer shed some 3% and wool of 19-20micron also lost 2%. Wool of 20-21micron held its own and traded at unchanged prices, but 21micron and stronger also lost 1%. Worst off on the day, however, was the weaker quality short-wool for which there was just no demand whatsoever. The competition nonetheless remains firm, seeing just about 99% of the total offering sold.

The best price for OVK/CMW this week was R175,10 for a BH lot of 17,5micron from the clip of Ross Flanagan of Waterfall Farming in the Stutterheim district. Congratulations to Ross on an excellent achievement! The buyer was Tianyu.
