FC Bhongweni and Young Minds promoted to SAB League

CHRIS Hani playoffs have concluded with Young Minds from Ilinge and Bhongweni from Indwe crossing over to the SAB league tournament due to start next week.

The round robin games between Bhongweni, Green Lovers from Ngcobo , Real City from Cala and Two Touches from Cofimvaba which were stopped at the Dumpy Adams Sports Complex after alleged Raven FC fans and players took to the field continued in Cacadu over the weekend.

Bhongweni landed in top position accumulating six points.

The first match of the day between Real City and Green Lovers ended in a 0-0 draw. In the second game of the day Bhongweni won 3 -2 against Real City. In the third game Two Touches from Cofimvaba had a 0-0 draw against Green lovers.

Real City was second with two points with Green Lovers and Two Touches receiving one point each.

Young Minds coach Melikhaya Ntenetyana said the players had made a great effort to go through the league regardless of the obstacle,

Bhongweni coach Ayanda Lesane said it was great news to make the cut to the SAB League.

“We have been trying to return and we are the first team in our area after two teams which played in the SAB failed.”
