Police seize dagga in Komani

MEMBERS of the Komani police have arrested four suspects, aged between 27 and 35, on charges of dealing in dagga.

Police spokesman Captain Namhla Mdleleni said the arrests were made during patrols in the town yesterday.

A Toyota Yaris was searched and four occupants were arrested after four bags of dagga and a set of handcuffs were recovered.

Mdleleni said one of the occupants had been wearing a police bulletproof vest.

The vehicle was believed to be underway from Lusikisiki to Whittlesea.

The dagga has been estimated at a value of R35 000.

The suspects will appear in the magistrate’s court in Komani tomorrow.
