THE Komani police have opened an inquest docket after the death of a 30-year-old male suspect.
Police spokeswoman Captain Namhla Mdleleni said the man was allegedly a suspect in the rape of a 60-year-old woman in her home in Zwartwater on Saturday.
The suspect was apprehended by the community but when the police went to fetch him he was found to have been tied up. The police untied him and took him to Glen Grey Hospital for medical attention. He was later certified dead by the hospital.
