THE Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) reported that the Eastern Cape (EC) province’s dam levels had increased slightly from 66.7% to 67.1%.
The levels reflect a minor improvement for this month compared with the same time last year.
Waterdown Dam is at 83.4% compared with 70.9% this time last year while the Xonxa Dam remains at 100.9%.
According to the report, the aforementioned water levels do not mean that the drought is over.
“These dams are under the Klipplaat Water Supply System which is at 70.9% this month. The DWS appeals to water users to help save water at all times by using it wisely,” the report stated.
