After a week during which protests rocked the towns of Cacadu and Dordrecht, Cogta MEC Fikile Xasa is set to meet with residents today.
Chris Hani District Municipality spokesman Thobeka Mqamelo has confirmed that the first meeting had been set to start at 9am at the Dordrecht police station with a further meeting set for the Mike Huna Commuunity Hall.
Xasa is set to meet with various stakeholders, including the political and administrative leadership of the Emalahleni Municipality to discuss related concerns including claims of corruption in the municipality.
Sanco and the Lady Frere Residents Association have called for the resignation of the mayor Nomveliso Nyukwana.
