The Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality has released a loadshedding schedule backdated to Monday, July 2, which the local authority has indicated has been necessitated by overloading.
| Day 1 (July 2) | Zone D, Chancele and Portion of Zone 1 | 18h00-20h00 |
| Day 2 (July 3) | Unathi Mkhefa, OR Tambo | 18h00-20h00 |
| Day 3 (July 4) | Zone 3, Zone 2 | 18h00-20h00 |
| Day 4 (July 5) | Zone 1, WSSA Water Pump Station | 18h00-20h00 |
EMLM spokesman Gcobani Msindwana said: “Kindly note that on Day 5 the circle will start all over again as EMLM awaits the repair of its 5MVA transformer(22Kv Substation). We will keep our customers and clients abreast on the developments as we experience pressure on our electricity network.”
He said there was no planned load-shedding around Komani today except for Sabatha Dalindyebo location due to take place from 6pm to 8pm.
The Komani schedule will be made soon but we are not anticipating any load-shedding for the rest of the town until further notice.
Msindwana said problems in Bushell Street were due to a transformer with attempts being made to repair or replace it as soon as possible.
EMLM has appealed to consumers to use power sparingly and to put off appliances which are not in use and to switch off lights in rooms that are not occupied.
