THE Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality has warned that the power supply in Komani is under threat due to the overloading of the system.
EMLM spokesman Gcobani Msindwana said many air conditioners and heaters had been switched on due to the cold. This was resulting in an overload of the system and, as a result, breakers were tripping.
He appealed to residents and businesses to switch off their heaters and air conditioners, saying that technicians were battling to keep the power on.
Currently, sections of Cathcart Road are without power – including the Town Hall – after an outage in Owen Street earlier today.
