Play-offs set to continue

THE South African Football Association (Safa) Enoch Mgijima Local Football Association (EMLFA) play-off finals between Seven Stars of Koman and Madrid of Ezibeleni will continue at the Dumpy Adams Sports Complex today at 1pm.

The match was abandoned by referee Luyolo Mjezu last weekend with Stars leading 1-0 with 15 minutes of game time remaining. The match was abandoned by Mjevu after the goalkeeper of Madrid complained that he could not see properly due to poor lighting.

The EMLFA competitions committee, after taking into consideration Mjevu’s report which was submitted to the EMLFA secretary Melikhaya Mdingi, confirmed the decision to abort the match.

In this video Madrid are seen entering their final match on August 12 with their supporters surrounging them singing igwijo (songs) to motivate their teams.

Stars were not intimidated by the singing nor by Madrid’s reputation, with Stars scoring in the early stages of the match with superb defense and very good offence.

Madrid will have 15 min to try and get back into the game with an equalizer or two goals to secure a win today.

Make your way to Dumpy Adams to see who will represent Enoch Mgijima in the Safa SAB Chris Hani region league.                 Video: SIMTEMBILE MGIDI
