Electricians are currently working on the electricity fault in the Haig Avenue area of Top Town.
The power has been off since 5am today.
Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality spokesman Gcobani Msindwana said a cable fault had been located and work had started on repairs.
It is not yet known when the power supply will be reconnected.
