Technicians are working on the Western substation with a power cut having left residents of the Westbourne area in the dark since last night.
The CBD was also affected but power was restored by 8am today.
Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality spokesman Gcobani Msindwana said a transformer was giving problems at the Western substation and that feedback would be given as soon as possible.
