Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality executive mayor Sisisi Tolashe is expected to address members of the community in the town hall tonight.
The meeting comes during a time when the CBD and residential areas of Kings Park, Madeira and Westbourne have been without power for a week.
Many businesses have already suffered extensive financial losses as a result while the transformer, expected to bring relief to some of the area, was by yesterday still being repaired.
The outage in some streets like Prince Alfred, Ebden and Cathcart Road has been blamed on a cable fault with technicians yesterday said to be working on it. By this morning the power had not yet been restored.
Tonight’s meeting has been scheduled for 5.30pm.
