Two men who allegedly stole a woman’s bakkie and cash from a Cradock business were apprehended after they crashed the vehicle in a residential area in the town earlier today.
Police spokeswoman Captain Lariane Jonker said the woman was robbed at gunpoint while on her way to deposit money from the business. Her Ford Ranger LDW was also taken. Members of the Operational Command Centre were dispatched and apprehended two suspects after the vehicle collided with a tree.
Both men, aged 30 and 35, were arrested and the vehicle, an undisclosed amount of cash and an unlicensed firearm with live rounds were seized.
Both will appear in court shortly.
Cluster commander Brigadier Madoda Zamkana commended the members.
