The transformer brought in over the weekend to restore power to Westbourne, Madeira Park, King’s Park, Amberdale and a section of the CBD, is almost ready to do its work.
Indications that the power would be back on in the areas by Friday did not materialise, but EMLM spokesman Gcobani Msindwana said the last test was currently being run with power expected to return in 30 minutes from now.
The road near Madeira Park was closed again this morning as people protested the lengthy outage of two weeks. We will keep you informed of any updates from EMLM.
