Masualle visits Upper Gqogqora School

As the back to school programme continues, Eastern Cape Premier Phumulo Masualle paid a visit to the Upper Gqogqora Primary and Senior Secondary School  where he met school principals, the school governing bodies and parents of pupils from the surrounding communities yesterday. This area falls under Intsika Yethu local municipality in  Chris Hani District. Despite infrastructure issues and other challenges, the high school in the area has consistently produced positive results, with a pass rate of between 70 and 96% for the past ten years.
Masualle commended the passionate teachers and supportive communities for the great job they were doing in supporting the pupils. The premier also emphasised the urgent need to assist the schools with infrastructure and sanitation needs, in ensuring that pupils and teachers are afforded conducive environments to learn and teach.
