Eskom implements stage 2 loadshedding today

LOAD SHEDDING ALERT: Eskom is set to implement stage 2 of its rotational load-shedding from 1pm today and is likely to continue until 10pm this evening.

An Eskom statement indicated there was also a need to replenish and preserve emergency water and diesel resources to limit load-shedding possibility or magnitude thereof in the following.

“Stage 2 load-shedding calls for 2000mw to be rotationally  load shed nationally at a given period. Load shedding is conducted rotationally as a measure of last resort to protect the power system from a total collapse or blackout,” read the statement.
