Statement by CHDM spokeswoman Thobeka Mqamelo
Chris Hani District Municipality will hold a suppliers’ day on February 25 in Komani, where all current and prospective service providers are expected to attend. The session will be mainly used to share information with service providers to improve working relations and also present government procurement reforms. Thobi Kula Indoor Sports centre will host the event which will begin at 09:00.
The Suppliers’ Day will also include stakeholders such as the South African Revenue Services (SARS), National Treasury, Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and Eastern Cape Development Cooperation (ECDC). These stakeholders will also make presentations and have stalls at the venue for the benefit of service providers.
This session has been organized to get CHDM suppliers on board with new procurement developments and this will help give them competitive advantage in municipal tenders. It will also be an opportunity for interactions where service providers will get the opportunity to pose their comments and questions to all entities in attendance.
