Chris Hani District Municipality in collaboration with the Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism conducted a World Environment Day event in Mount Arthur High School at Bangindlala Village, in Cacadu.
As a result of government intervention, the school now uses biogas as an alternative source of energy.
The purpose of the event was also to create awareness of the role that communities should play in preserving the environment.
