Youngsters to rev it up with modified car event

An array of modified cars will descend on the town for Stance and Sons an event hosted by Komani group Slammed Clique.

Member Chesline Jekels said the crew was established in 2016 with the aim of bringing some form of entertainment for Komani youth. “There is really not much to do and we know how excited young boys get when it comes to cars. So the crew, which consists off boys and girls, motivates the youth so they can work towards having their own things. We attend events all over the country, car shows where we socialise and network with different groups and share ideas.”

Jekels said the event will take place on June 15 at the AB350 Bus Services depot in Queendustria where cars will be competing and judged according to different categories.

“We get together, we have different categories where people can compete on ways of modifying their cars and with this event we want to get local people together so we give them an opportunity to showcase and operate their businesses. We are expecting groups from different areas in the province and groups from as far as Free State and Northern Cape.” Jekels thanked LCOM communications for the support and sponsorship.
