While official leagues have been called of by Safa due to the covid-19 pandemic, Dumpy Adams was still a hive of activity last Saturday with four LFA clubs taking part in a mini-tournament to keep busy during the break.

The four teams were Burning Spear FC, Try Again FC, Komani FC and the Tarkastad team Aces FC.

Decided by a draw, Burning Spear faced Aces first with the Komani side being overwhelmed by a fluid-playing Aces by 3-1. In the next game Try Again made a meal of Komani FC, beating them 5-2.

The final between Try Again and Aces had spectators on their feet, with both teams choosing to leave everything on the field to be crowned champions of the day.

The match ended 7-4 in sharp contrast from the first half score which had the game deadlocked at 1-1.

It was Try Again who came out on top, scoring six second half goals to Aces’ three.

Try Again captain, Aphiwe Magcwalela said he was happy about the way his team played.

“It was a great day of football. The refereeing was top class and all the teams played well.

He said the team would keep fit while the season was on hold, with players planning to exercise on their own.
