Work like a pro, play like a champ

RYSER Royal Primary School will close the winter sports season in style when they host a sports festival themed “Work like a pro, play like a champ” tomorrow, using the fields at the school and at the former Group 39 army base for four sporting codes.

Sport coordinator Viwe Yawa said the event will start at 7.30am. Rugby, netball, soccer and hockey will be played with the U10 and U12 age groups playing rugby, U11 and U12 netball and U12 soccer.

“The rugby format will be15-a-side matches. For netball, there will be seven-a-side matches. Hockey will be seven-a-side and 11-a-side respectively. Each school is requested to provide one referee and umpire for each code.”

Rugby, soccer and netball will be played at the school’s fields while hockey will be played at the army base, Yawa said.
