THE author of Dominate your World from the Inside Out, Clayton Cear, will launch his book at the Mugg and Bean at Nonesi Mall on October 28.

Cear, who matriculated from Maria Louw High School, and who is also a former Royal Academy High School teacher, garnered the courage to leave his career to start up a publishing non-profit organisation.

He said quitting his job to start something new was not easy.

“I prepared myself for the move. I sold my car and my two other businesses.

“It is still challenging but I have the support of my family and friends.”

Cear said his career-switch was encouraged by his burning desire to empower young people, by grooming their confidence and self-esteem.

“I have been a youth leader in my church for about seven years.

“I decided to follow my calling because youth work is my passion.”

The first part of his book addresses self-image among the youth and people in general.

“Self-image brings a person in line with their values, dreams and visions.

“This will heighten the level of self-awareness for youths.”

Another important topic explored in his book was how a person’s past shaped their present.

“Young people try to escape from their reality by being promiscuous and consuming drugs and alcohol.”

Cear said it was a way for them to try deal with their internal issues. He said poor coping mechanisms promoted self- destructive behaviour.
