FOUR members of the Queenstown Boys Boxing Club are looking to add their names to the Eastern Cape Boxing Team when they battle it out with pugilists at the provincial trials in Stutterheim next week.
The boxers include Kamva Selani, Zusakhe Thembani, Siyavuya Yona and Kamva Duku have been given an opportunity to train at Johnny’s Gym and QBBC trainer Dumisani Ganyaza said the boxers are destined for greatness.
“We are hopeful that our boxers will do well at the trials because we have been given a great opportunity to come and train at the gym.”
Ganyaza said the QBBC has done well this year despite the disappointing boxing tournament where none of the local pugilists were selected for the Eastern Cape Amateur Boxing team in East London. “They are promising and it is our dream that we see these boxers from our region succeed in the sport. We hope to have at least two boxers who will make it to the national team.”
