VICTORIA Road will be closed for the next two weeks as the Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality embarks on a resurfacing project after cries by residents to have the road repaired.
The resurfacing was supposed to have started on November 5 but municipal spokesman Gcobani Msindwana said bad weather conditions had delayed the start to Tuesday.
Msindwana said the cost would be determined by engineers but the municipality could not wait due to the urgency of the project.
“We were supposed to redo the tar but due to the urgency of the project, we have decided to do paving. Paving will be easier to maintain than tar. However, we depend on how kind the weather will be to us in terms of finishing.”
He appealed to road users for patience.
