Open market to inspire Komani youth

GET It Done (GID) – a Komani movement aimed at motivating local young people to achieve their goals – will be hosting its first for high school pupils at Man’s Buy and Braai in Westbourne.

The event, from 10am to 9pm on March 11, will encourage young people to adopt a business mindset.

Founder and Lukhanji FM presenter Calvin Nelani said an Intercape bus trip around Komani on March 4 would be used to create awareness of the upcoming event.

“South African hip-hop artist Ifani will be sharing his story to inspire the youth. Mbulelo Gadise, who plays the role of Sicelo in’s Scandal drama series also wants to give back to his home town.”

He said a draw would be hosted by Intercape with participants standing the chance of winning a return ticket to travel to the destination of their choice in South Africa.

“We will be joined by Lukhanji FM, Vukani FM and Capitec Bank, Standard Bank, the district education department, Eskom and Walter Sisulu University.”

He said the aim was to gather together people passionate about art, music, clothing, food and culture.

People are invited to book stalls to showcase and sell their goods.
