Professional nurse Roslynn Reuters said consultation services included blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol and blood group health screenings. HIV/Aids testing with counselling are also offered free of charge. She advised people to have annual health screenings in order to counteract future health complications.

“For instance, one could be infected with any type of disease unknowingly. They come in for health screening only to find out that their blood pressure is high. People have no reason to avoid these tests as they are affordable.”

With the winter season around the corner, she said the clinic was preparing to offer flu vaccinations.

Other available services include family planning, children’s vaccinations, stoma care, wound care and home-based nursing.

“When patients are not able to come to the clinic , we offer to provide services in the comfort of their homes, we’ll even offer to visit the patient twice a day if needs be. We provide interventions for acute conditions and clinic support for chronic diseases as well.

We offer our services after hours for the working clients that need to visit our facility after work. We are currently not taking medical aids but are working on doing so in the future.”

Reuters said Komani was home to the first Mega-med Clinic in the country with the vision to expand to other areas. Find them at 38b Grey Street or call them on 079 504 9052.
