THE Komani Youth Organisation is hosting a Miss Schools beauty pageant on Friday at the Mzingisi Skweyiya Hall in Mlungisi.
Head of the organisation, Thando Nyangitaka, said the purpose of the pageant was to revive the lost dignity of young females as women were no longer being treated with respect.
Teenage pregnancy, underage drinking and a lack of employment were having a devastating impact on the youth.
“We as the organisation want to mould and boost self confidence of women. We want to instil a positive mindset, as the majority of the young people are not courageous when it comes to their future. Young people are the future of the country.”
Entertainment will be provided by DJs.
