Protest action at WSU

Date:

POLICE are investigating a case of public violence after a Walter Sisulu University vehicle was set alight in Whittlesea yesterday.

Police spokesman Captain Namhla Mdlleni said the Public Order Policing and Vispol members were monitoring students at the WSU campus in Whittlesea following the violence.

Although the reason for the student protest was unclear at the time of writing, Mdleleni said students had forced their way onto the WSU premises and had blocked the road with stones yesterday.
