WITH World Blood Donor Day on June 14, the South African National Blood Services (SANBS) in Komani would love local donors to help save lives.
The SANBS Komani team will be at the Nonesi Mall from 11am to 5pm on Wednesday to assist donors to give blood while taking a break from shopping.
On June 15 – Thursday – donors may visit the SANBS headquarters at 26 Robinson Road to make their donation.
The SANBS in Komani is open to Donors on a Monday and a Thursday from 10am to 6pm.
June is annually dedicated to blood donors with World Blood Day commemorated annually on 14 June in a global celebration of the millions of people throughout the world who give their blood on a voluntary, unpaid basis to save the lives of those in need.
Donating a unit of blood can save up to three lives patients in dire need of blood. By becoming a regular blood donor, this ensures that the safety of blood is maintained and makes it possible for the SANBS to collect sufficient safe blood to meet the demand.
