Sounds of music

USENATHI Public Primary School from Sterkstroom hope to defend their trophy when they represent the Eastern Cape in the three-day South African Schools Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE) in Johannesburg next week.

The school won district and provincial competitions to advance to the national competition. Principal Oscar Nceba Katywa said this week they were ready to take on some of the best schools in the country.

“There has been a high level of commitment by the teachers, parents and the department which has helped us to be very good at music. We have conductors who motivate the children and we have the best musical instruments which has made the children interested in music.”
