Constable by day, hero by night

A Mlungisi police officer who assisted a woman who was in labour to give birth at the Mlungisi police station on Wednesday night, is the toast of the local police service.

Police spokesman Captain Namhla Mdleleni said the woman had approached the station, asking them to call an ambulance.

It was too late and constable Nomkhaya Xezu took the lead, assisting the woman to gain access to the station where she gave birth to a baby boy, named Gcas
