THE East London flying squad closed down a drug lab and seized tik with a street value of R70-million over the weekend.
Police said in a statement this morning that East London flying squad members, following up on information about a stolen car, had visited a house in Michael Street in the CBD on Sunday. They were assisted by members of Crime Intelligence and the South African Narcotics Bureau.
The owner of the house opened up for the police and about 105 kilograms of crystal meth (tik) was found. The vehicle was also seized.
A 31-year-old man was taken into custody on a charge of dealing in drugs. He will appear in court tomorrow.
