MEMBERS of the Stutterheim police recovered 123 stolen sheep on Friday.
Police spokesman Captain Siphokazi Mawisa said an investigation led police to Mgwali village near Stutterheim after the owner came to the police station to report the theft of livestock.
Police found 71 sheep in nearby bushes and a further 52 near the village.
Only three sheep were not found.
Members also conducted farm patrols and visited liquor outlets in the area at the same time.
