MEMBERS of the Eastern Cape police service have recorded various successes as part of Operation Safer Festive Season.
Police spokesman Colonel Sibongile Soci said in a statement today that 832 had been made in the past week.
A total of 72 rounds of ammunition and 14 firearms were also seized.
The suspects had appeared in various courts throughout the province.
Acting Eastern Cape provincial police commissioner Major General Andre Swarts said the operation aimed th ensure that communities and holidaymakers felt safe during the festive season and beyond. The police focus were on visible policing and intelligence-driven operations.
