SCORCHING: Komani has been experiencing extreme heat conditions since last week with today’s temperature at 37°.
The South African weather forecaster in Port Elizabeth Edward Engelbrecht said the heat wave in Komani, which were also affecting most of the western half of the East Cape are expected to last until Sunday.
Engelbrecht said temperatures are expected to drop to about 23° from Monday.
“The ridging high pressure which is anticipated to pass through the Eastern Cape will bring in cooler air from the ocean” he said. Apersistent surface trough together with continual upper air high pressure over the western interior of the country were the result of the heat wave.
