The Rep, Fresh Stop at Alan Hahn Motors and the Border Kei Chamber of Business (BKCOB) have initiated a search for our local heroes.
These men and women do not need to be superheroes, but they must be people who have impacted on your life or the lives of others in a meaningful way.
It might be the petrol attendant with the broad smile who is always willing to help or the unsung hero who who is helping to feed street children. It might be elderly woman knitting jersey for babies in need or the friendly cashier who makes customers feel extra special.
There have to be many people out there and, over the next few months we hope to find and recognise some of them.
Forward the name and telephone number of the nominee and a short motivation why this person qualifies, to sonjar@tisoblackstar.co.za or drop a note off at The Rep offices, 24 Prince Alfred Street in Komani.
Once a month, we will announce the local hero who will receive a certificate from the BKCOB and a steaming coffee and a muffin, courtesy of Seattle Coffee at the Fresh Stop at Alan Hahn Motors in Carth Cart Road.
His or her photo will also be published in The Rep.
Help us honour those going the extra mile. We are waiting to hear from you.
