MOLTENO Cleaning Services owner Philander Karelse has partnered with Nikita – Aliya Mgoduka, owner of Aliyah Modesty Models school (AMMS), to donate school shoes at the launch of Remember Me Initiative (RMI) at Edelweiss and Nolitha Public Primary Schools in Molteno.

Mgoduka, who is originally from King William’s Town, is also the founder of RMI and founder plus organiser as of the Miss Buffalo City Schools Beauty Pageant.

Mgoduka claims at the age of 10, she was somewhat disowned by her grandmother because whenever she received her old age grant, Mgoduka would collect all the children to come eat the groceries she had bought.

Gran tolerated it until she could not take it any more, as fter the children had eaten we would eventually be left without food. In 2014 while receiving my orphan’s grant money, I met a girl at the Walter Sisulu University during registration who looked lost.

We shared my grant money to buy bedding, clothes and food although I did not know her, I believe the circumstances around you should not make you a bitter person, instead be the change that you would like to see.”

She said education was the key to success and humanity a principle to be practised by all.

She had always been passionate about modelling.

I realised I had a passion for modelling in 2012 when I won a regional beauty pageant in Pietermaritzburg, I was a fashion model for Legit, Fashion World, Treasures of India and other clothing stores.”

She is currently nominated to represent the Eastern Cape (EC) at the Sandton Silver Star Casino where the International Applaud Rising Talent Show which is hosted by Just You Model and Artist Management will be held.

The winner of the competition will be given the opportunity to attend a four-year modelling course in New York at the New York film academy.

I am also competing to be the face of Just You 2019. I will launch my modelling school in King William’s Town tomorrow. Giving back to the community is important to me and in my modelling school AMMS, I have produced the face of Miss Mini-Teen South Africa, Indiphile Qwesha.”

She said she would also launch an AMMS branch in Molteno.

Vote for her by sending an SMS 129 to 35224 at a cost of R3 for the face of Just You Model. Karelse said shoes and socks would be handed over to the school children.

I met her via Facebook and inivited her here. We will be donating 100 pairs of shoes, paid by both of us”

He said old people in the townships would also be visited as part of the project.

Next year, the duo would look at expanding the projects to schools in other towns.
