Police in Cofimvaba closed down shebeens which have been operating with licenses in an operation over the weekend.
Police spokeswoman Captain Namhla Mdleleni said all stations around the Cofimvaba area focused on villages where shebeens were operating without licenses.
The members confiscated liquor as “the abuse of liquor contributes to assaults and robberies in the area.”
