The Enoch Mgijima Local Municipality is switching off power in various streets in Komani due to an overload on the system.
EMLM spokesman Gcobani Msindwana said the power had been switched off in Komani Street, Griffiths Street, Factory Road and Bells Road and would remain off for two hours. After that, another area would be switched off to manage the outages.
EMLM has not provided a schedule of outages.
He said the overload was due to the use of air conditioners and appealed to the public to use power sparingly. Msindwana also apologised for the inconvenience.
