Water outage feedback

Date:

WATER UPDATE: The CBD and Ezibeleni zones one to three are set to receive water relief after they endured several days without it.

Border-Kei Chamber of Business (BKCOB) administrator Adre Bartis, said this was according to an official she had been communicating with from Water and Sanitation Services South Africa (WSSA).

Bartis said water pumping started at 11 am today and that Ezibeleni and the CBD areas would be the first to receive, and then later be distributed to other areas.

“Unfortunately there are no time frames yet but water will be restored in all affected areas today. We urge people not to fill swimming pools or tanks when water is restored.”

Last week, Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) spokeswoman Thobeka Mqamelo indicates the water outages were due to dam and reservoir level being below 20% and that the heatwave had also resulted to a high demand of water usage.
