A 34-year-old man in possession of an unlicensed firearm was arrested in the Komani CBD yesterday. Police spokeswoman captain Namhla Mdleleni, said the suspect was apprehended after members of the Komani operational cluster crime team who conducted routine patrols around town noticed his suspicious behavior.
“The members stopped the man and continued to search him and found an unlicensed firearm. They requested that he produce a license, and upon inspection they found the firearm to have expired.”
Mdleleni said the suspect is expected to appear in the Komani Magistrate’s Court tomorrow
