Chris Hani District Municipality (CHDM) executive mayor Kholiswa Vimbayo announced that 100 merino rams are due to be handed over to Sakhisizwe and Emalahleni wool growers to improve the wool quality of the livestock. Vimbayo was speaking at Mbenge Village in Cala on Thursday.
CHDM communications officer Lonwabo Kowa said, “CHDM is one of the best in producing wool and efforts are made to equip farmers to develop further. Thus far, government has managed to build 109 shearing sheds around the district and more need to be built as the industry keeps growing.”
