Pamela Tshwete assesses water issues in Ngcobo

The Deputy Minister of the Department of Water and Sanitation, Pamela Tshwete, paid Clarkebury village community members a visit in Engcobo, concerning sporadic water issues that have been occurring for years.

Chris Hani District Municipality, communications officer, Lonwabo Kowa, said Clarkebury Senior Secondary boarding school, where the late Nelson Mandela and Chris Hani had studied were also affected.

Kowa informed that Tshwete and her team came to assess the old water infrastructure of the area, and to observe other possible water supply sources.

He said, “The Deputy Minister also solicited advise from community members, and a number of possible solutions, that were identified will be explored by the department.”
