The South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (Saica) is calling all grade 9 pupils who love accounting to enter the 2019 Saica Accounting Olympiad.
Entries are now open.
“If accounting is your favourite subject, you could win big with Saica’s Accounting Olympiad,” the institute said in a statement.
With tablets, cell phones and more prizes up for grabs for the top learners in every province, Saica urges grade 9s who wish to put their accounting knowledge to the test to speak to their accounting teachers to find out how their school can take part in this year’s Saica Accounting Olympiad.
The Olympiad, which is open to grade 9 pupils, is there to help pupils decide whether or not to choose accounting as a subject for their final school years as well as to give them the chance to test just how well they have mastered the accounting syllabus thus far – all while standing the chance to win some great prizes.
How can your school get involved?
High schools who wish to have their grade 9 pupils participate have until this Friday (May 24), to submit their entries.
Schools are required to submit a maximum of 15 entries per school. Participating schools will be selected by the district co-ordinators of the provincial departments of education, in conjunction with Saica.
A total of 500 learners will take part in the Olympiad on August 7, 2019 in each province.
The entry form and Olympiad rules are available on Saica’s website here: https://www.saica.co.za/LearnersStudents/LearnerSchoolInitiatives/SAICAOlympiad/tabid/4368/language/en-US/Default.aspx.
