Load-shedding has been extended to Stage 4, power utility Eskom has confirmed.
“We are currently load shedding in State 4 due to high demand or urgent maintenance being performed at certain power stations,” reads a statement on the power utility’s website.
Stage 4 began at 2pm today and will continue until 6am on Saturday, December 7.
The rotating power cuts started on Thursday, December 5 with Stage 2.
In a statement on its website yesterday, Eskom said: “Eskom would like to inform South Africans and all its customers that the electricity system is severely constrained.”
Customers are advised to check their load-shedding schedules on the Eskom or municipal websites.
