IT HAS been four years since The Gallery opened its doors in Komani, a period during which it has managed to establish itself as a leading supplier of accommodation, catering services, casual and fine dining.
In October 2012 The Gallery, based at 9 Wainwright Street, started off its first year of business. Since then, it has become a household name, known for its impeccable style, excellent cuisine, luxury accommodation and professional services.
All the rooms at The Gallery are equipped with state-of-the-art custom made furniture and fittings, minibars and even boast television sets in the bathrooms so guests can soak in the large bathtubs as they watch their favourite series after a busy day.
Key staff members include operations manager Kiewiet Fourie, restaurant manager Wayne Laurent, executive chef Riaan Erasmus and guest relations manager Pinkie Ndabeni, who collectively oversees 22 employees.
Over the past four years, The Gallery has extended its services from purely catering to total catering management and venue procurement.
In January this year, it launched its third accommodation establishment, The Gallery Boutique Hotel. This establishment is almost 100% solar powered to prevent any discomfort to guests during load-shedding.
The Gallery now consists of a five-star guest house, a four-star boutique hotel and a four-star guest house.
The idea behind the different gradings is to create a diverse brand which caters for the needs of all.
In October 2014, The Gallery launched its second restaurant, The Studio Café, in addition to the fine dining restaurant. Since its inception, The Studio Café has become increasingly popular among residents and travelers visiting Komani and surrounds. Key factors contributing to the success of The Studio has been customer care, quality food and value for money. Customer satisfaction is one of the highest priorities.
When The Studio first opened, the menu had 39 different dishes with the offering escalating to a current 62 dishes. A new menu is being launched on November 1 and thereafter patrons will be able to choose from a mouth-watering selection of 79 dishes, of which 52 will be new.
Health-conscious individuals can rest easy – care is being taken to ensure that the new menu offers some health options.
The Gallery has established a reputation as a supplier of the highest quality products within the restaurant industry in Komani.
Only the best ingredients are used in the freshest condition. Prices are kept at a reasonable rate, a factor which is helping The Gallery stay ahead of its competitors.
“We at The Gallery strive to provide the best possible working environment for all employees, which in turn promotes customer satisfaction.”
Great emphasis is placed on development and training for all staff, whether they are full-time, part-time or casual. “
This ensures consistent access to high calibre staff who will maintain the high standards the company has set and enable the company to provide uniformity of service to all clients.”
The Gallery also provides inspired event cuisine for meetings, corporate events, product launches, cocktail parties and weddings.
“Together with many of the venues in Queenstown and the surrounding areas, we at The Gallery create versatile and innovative catering concepts distinctive to each and every event.“
Fourie said The Gallery was able to assist with all aspects of event management in a professional manner and boasts a long list of location catering – client offices and unusual sites such as game farms, churches, sport clubs and large outdoor events – where planning and logistics are important. The company also sources venues for particular clients on an event-by-event basis.
The clients of The Gallery catering services are primarily from the corporate and event market, although with the resources available there are virtually no limitations to the catering management services The Gallery is able to supply.
Conferencing, cocktail functions, birthday parties, children’s parties, product launches, dinners (both intimate and grand), weddings, or unique and unusual venues are some of the many styles of functions that can be catered for by The Gallery.
The Gallery has thanked the public of Komani and surrounds for their support over the past four years.
