COMMUNITY members, led by the Philani Clinic Committee, burned tyres in front of the clinic this morning after nurses were apparently told to work weekends and paid just over R200 after six months.
This was alleged by clinic committee chairwoman Nompumelelo Kweza. She claimed that when the nurses at the clinic refused to work weekends an amount of up to R1 500 was deducted from their salaries. She said a nurse at the clinic, known to The Rep, swore at patients, using their HIV statuses as an insult. The Rep is investigating the matter and a full story will follow soon.
