THE QUEEN’S College under 15A team annihilated visiting St Andrews College this morning with coach John Duncan saying the team’s strong will was working for the boys with four off the six matches played so far this season ending in victory.

The team beat St Andrews 56-10. Duncan said the boys were dedicated at practise. “The boys are willing to play for each other, they are competitive. Their competitiveness creates their warrior spirit,” Duncan said.

Speaking about the game, he said his team had started off slow but capitalised on chances. He said he coached a team of special boys who worked for each other. “That willingness to work for each other – that makes them dangerous. When they get to first team, they will be a force to be reckoned with,” he said.

He said there were no stars in his team but the players worked hard. “I am blessed to work with these young men with good characters. I love every minute I spend with them on the field.”

The team will face Stirling High School in East London next weekend.

* The QC first rugby team lost 45 -22 and the Queens’ hockey first team was beaten 6-0 by St Andrews.
