Brrr…it’s cold out there!

WINTER has definitely arrived with a vengeance as temperatures plummeted in the Komani area over the weekend.

As per our earlier share from the Snow Report SA site, snow is expected in the Tiffendell (near Rhodes) and Barkly East areas on Wednesday.

Dordrecht hit a chilly -8 degrees Celsius over the weekend while some Komani residents reported -6 degrees early on Saturday.

Residents also woke up to a thick blanket of frost on Saturday.

Stay warm, everyone, and please consider donating blankets to The Rep’s blanket drive so we can help keep more people warm out there.

The Frontier Hospital maternity ward needs about 60 baby blankets for new moms – we currently have 15 – so if you are able to contribute to this cause, we can help keep some babies snuggled up this winter.

The Rep has a collection point for these blankets at 24 Prince Alfred Street.
